Noticed I Changed the Title?

The title is now "The 24 Hour Body: Dieting with a 44 Year Old Body". Why the change you ask? Because apparently it is going to take me a lot longer than four hours to change this body. Still no weight loss this week. I have cheated, yes. I have also felt completely fatigued. I agree with the basic principals of this diet: no potatoes or rice? I laugh in the face of french fries and rice pilaf!!! Eating dinner for breakfast? Can do. Higher amounts of protein at every meal?! Chickens should run screaming from me in the streets. Beans everyday? I am sure I have created another hole in the ozone. No grains? Um, well, er........No dairy? But, but, but....and no sugar??? (turn away from your computer now, it is hard to watch a grown woman weep).

I agree that perhaps sugar is far too pervasive in my eating repertoire. I don't eat desserts, typically. But when I actually got out my reading glasses and looked at what I was popping into my chai hole, it was a startling realization of how much of the wrong stuff I was actually eating. I should explain that we are, what I term, a 'low chemical' family. Which means organic when necessary and/or affordable; and when buying prepared foods, cleaners and personal products (mainly for the kiddies on this one), we go for the least amount of additives. And I have, committed to memory, the absolute no-no ingredients that are not allowed near the girls. So, I am not eating badly. But I eat a LOT of fruit. So do the kids. And I bake. With healthy things like quinoa flower, organic cocoa, veggie protein powder, and, you guessed it...organic sugar.

So what am I going to do? Sit here and cry in my organic soup stock? No, I am going to continue on Mr. Ferriss' wheel and do my best to eat how and what he recommends. He makes sense. It is just going to take me a wee bit longer than 4 hours.
