Harmony, Synergy and Lemon Chicken

Tonight's dinner was a fusion of what I can eat, and what the family can eat. I really see this as my only solution to me eating something tasty, and not losing my mind making food for everyone. So tonight's meal was a lemon/garlic marinated chicken (which I later made into a sweet sauce for 'the others' to put over their chicken), on a bed of spinach with stir fried veggies. I made a side of pasta, and voila! Dinner for Five. The kids loved the veggies and pasta, but found the Lemon Chicken to 'lemony'. (THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S MADE WITH LEMONS kiddies!!!!). And really life is full of compromises. They had to eat my crappy chicken, and I had to cook it for them. I believe that this is called synergy.

Keeping harmony in the kitchen is just one of the many challenges facing me on this diet. Finding time to exercise was always difficult, until I became responsible to another person (or dog, in this case). And feel free to shout out 'yea sista!' if you also share these issues; forgetting to not taste everything I cook; eating first thing in the morning when I have other pressing duties like finding clean underwear or feeding the animals on this arc; and drinking water (ever been 3 km into the bush and half to pee when it is -30? Then you haven't really lived.). It is coming together though, after just 10 days: the philosophy that you aren't what you eat....but you feel better for what you don't.
